LiveThe YNAB connector for Muse
Your budget, answerable and updatable by asking.
The YNAB connector lets Muse read and write your budgets: list budgets, accounts, balances, transactions, and categories, and record new transactions as they happen. Budgeting stops being a weekly chore and becomes a running conversation.
The habit it enables is the valuable part: spend something, tell Muse, and it’s logged in the right category before you forget.
What Muse can do with YNAB
- List budgets, accounts, and current balances
- Review transactions and spending by category
- Record new transactions in the right category
- Report on category balances and overspending
Try asking
- “Log a $42 grocery run at Trader Joe’s.”
- “How much is left in the dining-out category this month?”
- “Show me all transactions over $200 in the last two weeks.”
Safety notes
- Recording transactions changes your budget — Muse confirms the amount and category first.
- Muse can’t change your YNAB account settings or connections.
- This is a community-built connector. Review its permissions before connecting.
How to connect YNAB
Open the Muse app, go to settings, and find connectors. Link your YNAB account with the standard sign-in — Muse never sees your password. Once linked, the connector is available across your conversations. You can scope it to read-only or disconnect it entirely at any time from the same screen.
Questions
Does it auto-import bank transactions?
Auto-import is a YNAB feature handled in the app. The connector reads and records transactions you describe — it’s the manual-entry shortcut.
Can Muse move money between categories?
It can record transactions and report balances. Category reallocations are best done deliberately in YNAB itself.
