The xAI connector lets Muse query Grok chat completions and list available Grok models through xAI’s API. Get a second model’s perspective, compare answers, or run tasks through Grok’s distinctive lens.
It’s useful when you want a different voice on the same problem — Muse can send the prompt to Grok and bring back its answer for comparison.
What Muse can do with xAI
- Send prompts to Grok models for chat completions
- List available Grok models and their capabilities
- Compare Grok’s answers against Muse’s own
- Run tasks through Grok for a second opinion
Try asking
- “Ask Grok what it thinks of this business idea.”
- “What Grok models are available right now?”
- “Get Grok’s take on this argument and compare it with yours.”
Safety notes
- Grok completions bill to your xAI API account.
- Prompts sent to xAI leave your session — don’t include sensitive data.
- This is a community-built connector. Review its permissions before connecting.
How to connect xAI
Open the Muse app, go to settings, and find connectors. Link your xAI account with the standard sign-in — Muse never sees your password. Once linked, the connector is available across your conversations. You can scope it to read-only or disconnect it entirely at any time from the same screen.
Questions
Do I need an xAI API key?
Yes. The connector calls xAI’s API with your key, so you’ll need an account and billing set up.
Can Muse use Grok as a fallback?
It can query Grok on request for comparison or a second opinion, but Muse remains the primary assistant in the conversation.
