LiveThe Descript connector for Muse
Audio and video editing, driven by the transcript.
The Descript connector plugs Muse into your audio and video editing workflows. Descript’s whole premise is editing media by editing text (delete a sentence from the transcript and it’s gone from the recording), and Muse makes that loop conversational.
The practical win is rough-cut speed: "cut the ums, tighten the intro, pull three clips for social" as instructions instead of timeline scrubbing.
What Muse can do with Descript
- Work with Descript projects for audio and video
- Drive transcript-based edits conversationally
- Prepare clip selections for social and promos
- Coordinate editing passes from written direction
Try asking
- “Open my latest podcast project and cut everything before the actual intro starts.”
- “Pull three 30-second clips from this episode that would work on social.”
- “Tighten the pauses in the interview segment.”
Safety notes
- Edits change your media — Muse confirms the edit plan before applying.
- Keep project backups; destructive edits are hard to undo.
- This is a community-built connector. Review its permissions before connecting.
How to connect Descript
Open the Muse app, go to settings, and find connectors. Link your Descript account with the standard sign-in — Muse never sees your password. Once linked, the connector is available across your conversations. You can scope it to read-only or disconnect it entirely at any time from the same screen.
Questions
Does Muse replace my editor?
No. It accelerates the rough cut and the tedious passes. Final polish still benefits from human ears.
What kinds of projects does this work with?
Podcasts, video essays, interviews — anything you’d already edit in Descript’s transcript view.
