LiveThe Brave Search connector for Muse
Independent web search, minus the tracking.
The Brave Search connector gives Muse an independent search index to work from. When you need a second opinion on what the web says — or you just prefer results that aren’t shaped by an ad business — Muse can search Brave and work from those results.
It is a straightforward research upgrade: fresher facts, alternative angles, and sources your default search might rank differently.
What Muse can do with Brave Search
- Run web searches against Brave’s independent index
- Compare results against other search sources
- Surface sources for claims Muse makes
- Research topics with privacy-respecting search
Try asking
- “Search Brave for recent reviews of the new Kindle.”
- “What are people saying about the latest iOS update?”
- “Find three independent sources on the water quality report.”
Safety notes
- Read-only, search never changes anything.
- Muse cites what it finds; verify anything consequential at the source.
- This is a community-built connector. Review its permissions before connecting.
How to connect Brave Search
Open the Muse app, go to settings, and find connectors. Link your Brave Search account with the standard sign-in — Muse never sees your password. Once linked, the connector is available across your conversations. You can scope it to read-only or disconnect it entirely at any time from the same screen.
Questions
Why use Brave Search instead of the default?
Brave runs its own index rather than licensing results, so rankings differ, useful when you want an angle your usual search might bury.
Does it cost anything?
The connector uses Brave’s search API under your own arrangement; check Brave’s current API terms for limits.
