Live Voice Conversations With Muse Start Reaching Users, Without an Announcement

TestingCatalog reports that realtime voice conversations with Muse began rolling out October 24, citing a user who saw the feature appear without notice from Meta, a month after Meta presented voice mode at Connect.

Live Voice Conversations With Muse Start Reaching Users, Without an Announcement

Live voice conversations with Muse have started reaching users. TestingCatalog reported on October 25 that live voice conversations are gradually rolling out since the previous day. The report cites a user, Dave Gambrill, who posted on October 24 that the voice option had appeared for him, adding that he received no official notice and was unsure how the rollout is proceeding.

A screenshot in TestingCatalog’s post shows an onboarding screen reading “Give your Muse a voice, then say hello,” with a note that the microphone stays active during the conversation and can be muted or ended at any time. The setup presents it as a conversation with Muse itself.

A second user report points the same way. Musecases amplified a post from a user who said he had received realtime voice access and described it as natural, fast, and expressive, framing it as the rollout reaching users. That account is also unconfirmed by Meta, but it is independent of Gambrill’s report.

What the Rollout Changes

Meta presented Muse Voice Mode at Connect on September 23 as a way to hold long conversations while the agent keeps working in the background, and TestingCatalog described a web interface resembling a phone call with the agent on September 27. The new development is the rollout, with the feature appearing in users’ apps rather than on a stage or in a test build.

It differs from a second, older phone feature. Since September, Muse has been able to place calls to United States businesses for errands such as booking appointments or checking stock, a feature Reuters reported on September 22. The feature now rolling out works in the reverse direction, with the user talking to Muse, live, by voice, while the agent works.

What Remains Unknown

The reporting leaves the most practical questions open. TestingCatalog calls the rollout gradual but gives no scope, no regions, and no eligibility criteria, and Meta has not announced the rollout in the sources reviewed for this story. Gambrill’s account is a single user report, so it establishes that the feature has appeared for at least one user, not how widely it is available or when it will reach everyone.

If a voice option has appeared in your Muse app, it is part of this gradual rollout. If it has not, nothing in the reports points to a setting that turns it on; the feature appears to arrive with the rollout itself.
